Acknowlegements#
Prof. Arda Vanli has been teaching this course at the FAMU-FSU COE for numerous years before I started working here. He provided all his materials to help me get started.
I taught this course for the first time in Fall 2024 and the existence of these notes is a product of my learning from the initial batch of seven unfortunate students (Warning: if you are taking this course with me, you might also be my teaching-lab rats)
This course builds upon one of Prof. Douglas Montgomery’s several textbooks in the field of Industrial Engineering - “Introduction to Statistical Quality Control”. An irrelevant fact is that Prof. Montgomery did his entire higher education (BS, MS, and PhD) in the same department I completed my PhD (more than 50 years later though).
Welcome to the course and happy learning!
